With an injury forcing Brad Tavares out of his UFC 137 bout with Dustin Jacoby, a matchup between bantamweight contender Scott Jorgensen and returning veteran Jeff Curran has been promoted to take its place on the UFC 137 pay-per-view main card, the UFC announced today.
Jacoby will move back to the UFC 137 prelims to face fellow undefeated newcomer Clifford Starks.
Jorgensen (12-4) scored a first-round knockout of Ken Stone in his UFC debut in June after coming up short against bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz at the final WEC event in December, while Curran (33-13-1) returns to the UFC after winning four of his five fights since being leaving the WEC.
Tavares-Jaboby was promoted to the UFC 137 main card just days ago, when it was left with just four bouts after welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre was forced to bow out of the main event against Carlos Condit with an injury.
UFC 137 is now headlined by welterweights BJ Penn and Nick Diaz and also includes Matt Mitrione vs. Cheick Kongo, Mirko Cro Cop vs. Roy Nelson, and Hatsu Hioki vs. George Roop.
