Matt Hughes Hopes to Fight Again in UFC

Matt Hughes hopes to fight again in the UFC after the welterweight UFC hall of famer considered retiring following back-to-back knockout losses to BJ Penn and Josh Koscheck.

“Iwant to fight again, my wife tells me I’m going to retire, so Dana [White] is the deciding vote,” Hughes said in a Saturday interview on Fuel TV. “My wife’s a great lady, but she’s not going to tell me when Matt Hughes retires. I’m just hoping I can fight next, we’ll see what happens. I’m not scouting anyone out, I’m just hoping the opportunity is there for me.”

Hughes (45-9) was knocked out by Koscheck in the last second of the opening round at UFC 135 in September, which came 10 months after a 21-second KO to Penn snapped a three-fight win streak.
