The UFC has officially requested May 26 and July 7 dates at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas for pay-per-view events, which will likely be UFC 146 and UFC 148 or UFC 149 respectively.
Nevada State Athletic Commission executive director Keith Kizer confirmed the dates to MMAFrenzy.com on Monday.
Both events are traditional Las Vegas dates for the UFC, as it typically returns to its home city for the Memorial Day and Fourth of July weekend events. The July 7 card will be accompanied by a UFC Fan Expo at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center on July 6 and 7 as previously reported.
The UFC’s schedule before the May 26 event includes UFC 145 with Jon Jones vs. Rashad Evans on April 21 in Atlanta, UFC on Fox 3 with Nate Diaz vs. Jim Miller on May 5 in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and UFC on FX 3 on May 15 in Fairfax, Virginia.
