It appears yet another fighter named Thiago will no longer be fighting on UFC 149 as Thiago Alves has withdrawn with injury. A replacement is currently being sought for Afghani fighter Siyar Bahadurzada. MMAWeekly first reported the news.
“Wish Alves good luck with his recovery. Hopefully that fight happens on another @ufc card to determine the best striker in the WW division”
Alves became the second fighter to drop off UFC 149 today after an injury to Thiago Silva scratched him from his bout with Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.
UFC 149 takes place July 21 live from Alberta, Canada and will be headlined by a featherweight title fight between Erik Koch and Jose Aldo.
