Recent Super Fight League signee Jeff Monson is now slated to make his promotional debut in a headlining bout against Todd Duffee. MMA Junkie has confirmed the match-up with agent Ken Pavia on their radio program.
Monson (46-13-1), currently on a 3-0-1 run behind losing to Fedor Emelianenko in November, has inked a four-fight deal with the SFL. The ever-active American Top Team submission specialist has fought four times hitherto in 2012, most recently notching a North/South choke victory of Denis Komkin at M-1 Global: Fedor vs. Rizzo.
Duffee (7-2), recently got back on the winning side of things after a two-fight skid with a 34-second obliteration of Neil Grove at SFL 2.
Both UFC veterans will look to continue rolling as they headline SFL 4 on September 8, which will take place in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
Also on the bill will be a heavyweight tilt between Olympic Judo Gold Medalist Satoshi Ishii (4-2-1) and Jimmy Ambriz (16-18-1). Ishii has yet to compete since losing via TKO to Fedor Emelianenko on New Year’s Eve. Prior to that, his only career blemish came in his professional debut against fellow Olympian Hidehiko Yoshida.
