Former Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion Miesha Tate makes her return to the cage, after having her arm snapped by Ronda Rousey in March, on Aug 18. Taking on the former champion will be women’s MMA mainstay Julie Kedzie. Ironically, “Takedown’s” return comes on a card headlined by the women who wrested the title from her, Ronda Rousey.
Tate (12-3) will now look to rebound from her first loss in three years. Prior to the bout, Tate submitted Marloes Coenen to capture the women’s 135 lb crown.
Kedzie (16-9), a longtime Jackson’s product, returns to action after more than a year on the inactive list. “Fireball’s” last Strikeforce appearance was a ho-hum decision loss to Alexis Davis which snapped a five-fight win streak.
Strikeforce: Rousey vs Kaufman takes place live at the Valley View Casino in San Diego, California on August 18.
