Changes to the UFC’s fourth Fox offering continue coming as a heavyweight clash between Matt Mitrione and Rob Broughton has been pulled from the card. With the event just 10 days out, it was announced that the Brit would not be competing.
While the recent rash of injuries plaguing the promotion has seemed to slow for the time being, this bout fall by the wayside for it’s own reasons. According to MMA Junkie:
The matchup, which UFC officials first announced in May, was pulled so that Broughton can deal with a few personal matters.
The British heavyweight is currently on a two-fight skid, going 1-2 inside the octagon. Mitrione, an Ultimate Fighter veteran, most recently suffered his first career loss at the hands of Cheick Kongo at UFC 137.
