Rumor: “Cro Cop” To Fight at UFC 73

Mirko Cro Cop FilipovicUFC 73: “Stacked” just got more stacked if this rumor is substantiated. Jutarnji is reporting that Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic’s next UFC fight may be in July at the recently confirmed UFC 73 event in Sacramento. Here is a rough translation of what the publication had to say:

“His [Cro Cop’s] next appearance in the UFC should be in July (currently the only known event for July is UFC 73 in Sacramento, California)”

Cro Cop is by far one of the more hyped fighters of the UFC although he failed to impress the masses in his tape-delayed KO at UFC 70 from England where he was knocked out by Gabriel Gonzaga. In his more limited PPV UFC debut the Croatian defeated Eddie Sanchez with a TKO in the first round.

No opponent has been announced for the former Pride Heavyweight champion although if he is matched up with a big name (such as Brandon Vera or Andrei Arlovski) a win could quickly propel him back into UFC heavyweight title contention.

UFC 73 is headline by dual title defenses with Anderson Silva facing Nate Marquardt and Sean Sherk putting his lightweight title on the line against Hermes Franca. For complete information of the event check out our UFC 73 rumors.
