Despite experiencing disappointment after an apparent Zuffa homecoming was nixed, Tim Sylvia will jump back into action as he faces Andrei Arlovski for the fourth time at ONE FC “Pride of a Nation.” Sylvia will be filling in for Soa Palelei, who tweeted about a contract issue with the company. MMAWeekly first reported the switch in opponents.
Sylvia and Arlovski will now face each other for the fourth time, the first three happening in the UFC Octagon, with the former UFC champions looking to build on their recent momentum. Sylvia has been looking for a way back into the Octagon for awhile now and has volunteered to be a late replacement several times, so a win could push the rededicated fighter a step closer to where he wants to be.
ONE FC “Pride of a Nation” will take place August 31 and will air (likely via PPV stream) live from the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Manila, Philippines. The bout will feature Asian MMA standouts such as Shinya Aoki, Eduard Folayang, and Bibiano Fernandes.
