Unfortunately, Legacy FC Welterweight Champion and Brazilian MMA legend Jorge Patino has suffered a torn ACL, which will keep him out of his next title defense. Stepping in for “Macaco” will be Lucas Pimenta, who will meet Jeff Rexroad to crown an interim champion on September 14 at Houston’s Arena Theater.
Pimenta (8-1) has looked unstoppable since his professional debut, winning eight-consecutive bouts with six stoppages, five of which come by way of knockout. The Brazilian’s most recent run has seen him collect victories in the UWF and Bellator cages, including wins over Shamar Bailey and Mitch Whitesel.
Rexroad (5-1) is riding a four-fight win-streak with two wins coming by way of submission. “The Executioner” most recently submitted Larry Crowe with a late armbar in December of 2011.
