A featherweight battle between Chad Mendes and Hacran Dias is headed to Australia this December. The two featherweights will vie to remain in the featherweight title hunt when they meet in December. Brazilian sports site SporTV first reported the matchup.
Hacran Dias is coming off a successful UFC debut at UFC 147 this past June. The talented featherweight was originally supposed to be on “TUF Brazil” but bypassed the reality show and ended up in the promotion anyways. Dias is 21-1-1 in his MMA career.
Chad Mendes most recently defeated Cody McKenzie in dominant fashion at UFC 148. The Team Alpha Male product is currently facing some legal issues but they are not expected to influence this bout.
UFC on FX 6 takes place December 17 in Broadbeach, Gold Coast, Australia. The card was originally to be headlined by middleweights Hector Lombard and Rousimar Palhares but that fight has switched places with the “TUF: Australia vs. UK” coaches fight between Ross Pearson and George Sotiropoulos. The card will also act as the site of the reality show’s season finale.
