Rony “Jason” Smashes Sicilia

TUF Brazil champion Rony “Jason” Mariano Bezerra took out Sam Sicilia in a wicked brawl at UFC 153. These two fighters went after each other in both rounds and both fighters landed massive shots but “Jason” had the better chin of the two fighters. After taking a wicked shot from Siclia, “Jason” caught a kick and then dropped the Spokane native. It was all over from there as Siclia was crushed by hammerfists. The win marks the eighth straight victory for Rony “Jason.”

Tibau Outlasts Trinaldo

In a true “Fight of the Night” contender, Gleison Tibau and Francisco Trinaldo had an incredible amount of momentum swings in their bout tonight. After being in trouble early and often in the first round, Trinaldo landed a crushing shot on the longtime UFC veteran. Trinaldo tried to finish the bout on the ground but was unable to do so as Tibau valiantly held on in a round that could have seen a 10-8 scoring. Tibau bounced back in the third after scoring a driving takedown after an electric exchange between the two fighters. Tibau tried to finish the fight with multiple submissions from the amount but was simply too tired to finish. The win marked the eleventh UFC win for the veteran fighter.

Brandao Steamrolls Gambino

Diego Brandao absolutely dominated Joey Gambino from start to finish in their bout. Brandao floored the American fighter multiple times in their preliminary bout but he was unable to get the finish en route to a dominant decision victory. The TUF 14 champion bounced back from a loss to Darren Elkins to net his first victory since winning the reality show.

Moraes Finishes Forte

Sergio Moraes may not have the most diverse game out there, but what he does, he does incredibly well. While the Brazilian struggled with Renee Forte’s striking game, he proved that he has homerun ability on the ground. When a scramble broke out in the third, the BJJ savant made a beautiful transition to Forte’s back. From that point it was all academic as Moraes sunk in the choke and finished it to get his first UFC win, something that made the fighter a little too happy as he practically cuddled with Forte after the submission win.
