The Resurrection Fighting Alliance has purchased the assets of Titan Fighting Championship. The terms of the deal include Titan’s TV deal with AXStv and certain fighter contracts. The move was announced over the weekend via Press Release.
Titan Fighting Championship was founded by businessman Joe Kelly in 2006. The promotion has put on 24 events, the last of which featured former UFC fighter Anthony Johnson defeating Esteves Jones in the main event. The midwestern promotion was supposed to hold their 25th event this past September before inclement weather rained out the event.
Kelly will continue to work with RFA, stating via press release:
“I am very excited to be working with the guys at Resurrection Fighting Alliance. I really feel like this is a partnership with all the potential for success. We are very like-minded with similar goals. That made this an opportunity I could not pass on.”
While still a young promotion, RFA has shown a commitment to putting on quality MMA at the regional level. The Las Vegas-based promotion blends a mix of upcoming talent and veterans working their way back to the spotlight. The promotion made some big news earlier this year by signing famed MMA manager Ed Soares to become President. Soares recently received a permanent promoters license from the California State Athletic Commission.
RFA will put on their fourth show on November 2 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The show will take place on AXStv as part of the acquisition.
