It would seem the recent ratings slide for The Ultimate Fighter, has prompted change on the part of UFC and FX, which will now be moving the show off of it’s Friday night slot. Coaching duties this season, as previously reported, have been given to UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones and former middleweight title challenger Chael Sonnen.
The announcement was made during today’s conference call. FX executive Chuck Safler announced that UFC President Dana White would make the oficial announcement of the new day and time slot in the coming 30-45 days.
The Ultimate Fighter’s run on FX has been tumultuous to say the least, the new live format for the show’s fifteenth season proved to be a flop, while the ratings of the current season have plummeted. The hope that a new day coupled with a meeting of the face of the company and its resident loudmouth will improve ratings this coming January, which is when the show will begin to air.
