An undisclosed injury to PRIDE and UFC veteran Gilbert Yvel has opened the door for a lightweight bout between Efrain Escudero and Tyson Griffin to take the main event slot at Resurrection Fighting Alliance’s fourth promotional offering.
RFA 4 takes place November 2 at the Texas Station Gambling Hall & Hotel in Las Vegas, and the main card airs on AXS TV (formerly HDNet).
Escudero (18-5) is on a two-fight skid that saw him bounced form the UFC after losses to Jacob Volkmann and Mac Danzig. The Ultimate Fighter winner holds victories over Mike Rio, Cole Miller, Dan Lauzon, and Phillipe Nover.
Griffin (15-6) has hit a rough patch of late, as he has gone on a 1-4 run, forcing him out of the UFC as well. The always game Californian holds victories over Manny Gamburyan, Rafael Dos Anjos, Gleison Tibau, Clay Guida, and Urijah Faber.
