It would seem Dana White’s recent comments about Nick Diaz needing to fight at least one more time before getting a crack at GSP for the UFC welterweight have piqued the interest of Josh Koscheck. The boisterous NCAA All-American took to twitter to call out “The Kid From Stockton”, writing, “I am DOWN! Don’t be scared Homie! #559.”
Koscheck (17-6) is 2-1 since his title loss to George St-Pierre, including a knockout victory over former champion Matt Hughes and a split decision victory over Mike Pierce. The perennial contender then lost a razor thin decision to Johny Hendricks
Diaz (26-8) is coming off the controversial decision loss to Carlos Condit for the interim UFC welterweight crown. Prior to that bout, Diaz was on an 11-fight tear, with only two bouts going to decision.
The former Strikeforce welterweight champion is eligible to return from a suspension and apply for a fight license on February 4. According to the UFC president will face on of the top contenders of the division upon his return, which certainly leaves the window open for Koscheck.
