Former Strikeforce welterweight title challenger Evangelista Santos has seen his opponent selected for his Legacy Fighting Championship debut, as UFC veteran Pete Spratt welcomes him to the promotion at Legacy FC 17.
Santos (18-15) is looking to rebound from the back-to-back losses to Nick Diaz and Jordan Mein, which subsequently saw him bounced from Strikeforce. Prior to that skid, the Brazilian took consecutive knockouts over Daniel Zarate and former DREAM welterweight champion Marius Zaromskis.
Spratt (25-21) is on a two-fight win-streak, taking victories over Daniel Acacio and Martin Grandmont on the regional circuit. “The Secret Weapon” is 4-2 in his last 6 fights and returns to Legacy FC for the first time since dropping a split decision to Jorge “Macaco” Patino at LFC 8 in September of 2011.
Legacy FC 17 takes place in San Antonio, Texas on February 1 of the coming year.
