UFC on FUEL TV 7 Update: Barão vs. McDonald to Headline in London

The UK is getting a title fight for their next main event as UFC interim bantamweight champion Renan Barão will face Michael McDonald at UFC on FUEL TV 7. The bout will be the first UFC championship fight in the UK since UFC 80. The UFC announced the pairing earlier today as they confirmed several fights for the promotion’s return to London.

The bout became imperative after UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz’s return to action was delayed after he required another knee surgery.

Barão has not lost since his 2005 MMA debut, and has won his last four fights in the UFC. Defeating Urijah Faber for the interim crown this past July.

Michael McDonald will look to make history when he faces off with the Brazilian fighter. If McDonald proves victorious, he would become the youngest champion in UFC history. McDonald has won his first four bouts in the UFC, notching two knockout victories in last two fights.

UFC on FUEL TV 7 will take February 16 in at the historic Wembley Arena in London, England.
