“Cisco” (8-2) is coming off of a brutal knockout win over Roland Delorme at UFC 149. Unfortunately for Rivera, his victory was changed to a no contest behind testing positive for stimulants in the post-fight drug test. The heavy-handed Californian made his UFC return against Alex Soto in May, taking a unanimous decision victory. After a loss in his debut, Rivera was released from the promotion, but returned after two wins in the Tachi Palace cage.
Figueroa (9-1) is on a two-fight run. After dropping a decision to Michael McDonald in his debut, “El Feroz” would rebound with a destructive TKO win over Jason Reinhardt. The Texan most recently took a split decision victory over the surging Alex Caceres at UFC 143.
UFC 156 takes place February 2 at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and is headlined by Jose Aldo defending his featherweight crown against former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar.
