Alistair Overeem to Apply For Licensure in Nevada on Janauary 8

Alistair OvereemAfter being pulled from UFC 146 earlier this year, behind a random drug test which showed an elevated testosterone-to-epitestosterone ratio, coupled with a shambolic hearing with the Nevada State Athletic Commission, former Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion and UFC title contender Alistair Overeem is once again eligible to be licensed by the NSAC to compete.

After serving a nine-month retroactive suspension, “Reem” will once again meet with the commission on January 8, pleading his case for the right to fight in Nevada after getting off to a shaky start with the board.

The Dutchman is currently slated to meet Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva at UFC 156, which will take place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Vegas on February 2.
