The UFC has begun building their return to the Saitama Super Arena in Japan for their eighth Fuel TV offering on March 3. The promotion has announced a pair of promising bouts as Mizuto Hirota takes on Rani Yahya while Marcelo Guimares and Hyun Gyu Lim meet.
Hirota (14-5-1), a former Sengoku Lightweight Champion, is coming off of a contentious unanimous decision loss to Pat Healy in July and will be trying his hand at featherweight. Welcoming him to division will be Rani Yahya (17-7), who recently returned from a yearlong layoff to defeat Josh Grispi in August.
In a welterweight tilt, Hyun Gyu Lim (10-3-1) will finally make his UFC debut after being forced off of UFC on Fuel TV 6. “The Korean Icepick” has earned 9 of his career victories by stoppage. Undefeated Brazilian prospect Marcelo Guimares (8-0-1) will be tasked with welcoming the Korean to the octagon. “Magrao” made his UFC debut in July, taking a split decision over Daniel Stittgen.
