Since the casket was shut on Strikeforce last month, UFC President Dana White can’t turn a corner without being asked, “is Josh Barnett coming to the UFC?” After divorcing himself from the situation and having Joe Silva deal with the former UFC Heavyweight Champion, White had a positive outlook, telling media things seemed to be going well. Well, trouble has reared its ugly little head.
Barnett’s manager, Leland LeBarre told MMA Fighting:
“We agreed on guaranteed compensation. In fact, we never even countered. We accepted their original offer. However, there are some outlying issues — one in particular — that as of this point we were unable to agree on.
We want to find the best deal for Josh and his final MMA home,”
It remains to be seen whether the situation can hammer itself out or not, especially given that LeBarre wouldn’t clarify what exactly the problem was, but for now it would appear that things have hit a serious roadblock.
