Conor McGregor to UFC, Faces Marcus Brimage at UFC on Fuel TV 9

Conor McgregorAfter posting an impressive 2012 that saw him capture both the featherweight and lightweight Cage Warriors titles, Conor McGregor has been picked up by the UFC. The Irishman will make his promotional debut at UFC on Fuel TV 9, where he will be welcomed to the octagon by Marcus Brimage. 

McGregor (12-2) knocked out Ivan Buchinger on New Year’s Eve to wrest the Cage Warriors Lightweight Title, “Notorious” came into the bout carrying the promotion’s featherweight strap, which he earned with second-round submission of Dave Hill in June. The Irish Fighter has yet to see final bell in his MMA career.

Brimage (6-1) is undefeated inside the octagon. A TUF veteran, “The Bama Beast” most recently outpointed Jim Hettes at UFC 152, improving his record to a four-fight win-streak. The ATT product has shown a vast improvement since becoming graduating from The Ultimate Fighter, taking victories over Maximo Blanco and Stephen Bass.

UFC on FUEL TV 9 takes place April 6 at Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm.
