The UFC has set up their second women’s MMA bout for The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale in April. Former Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate will take on powerhouse WMMA prospect Cat Zingano on the FX card. UFC officials announced the pairing earlier today.
Miesha Tate will make her UFC debut after last seeing action against Julie Kedzie at “Strikeforce: Rousey vs. Kaufman.” The 2012 “Fight of the Year” candidate saw Tate victorious with a fabulous armbar finish after some tense moments versus Kedzie.
Cat Zingano is one of the more promising bantamweight prospects in the WMMA ranks today. Undefeated at 7-0, Zingano was last in action at Invicta FC 3 against Raquel Pennington. The Team Zingano and Blackhouse trained fighter dismantled Pennington through two rounds before putting her away in the second round.
The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale will take place April 13 at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. The finale will also feature a previously announced heavyweight matchup between Gabriel Gonzaga and Travis Browne, as well as the TUF 17 middleweight tournament final.
