The UFC awarded $50,000 fight night bonuses to Tom Watson, Stanislav Nedkov, and UFC interim bantamweight champion Renan Barão. England’s Watson doubled up on bonuses tonight earning $100,000 for “Knockout” and “Fight of the Night” for his bout with Nedkov. Barão picked up “Submission of the Night” for his submission victory in tonight’s main event. The UFC announced the bonuses at the UFC on FUEL TV post-fight press conference.
After two subpar fights, in terms of excitement, middleweights Tom “Kong” Watson and Stanislav Nedkov went to war and brought the listless crowd to their feet. Both fighters battered each other and had each on the verge of a knockout at times but in the end it was England’s Watson who netted the victory. “Kong” would also double up on bonuses with the victory, taking home $100K in bonuses alone.
UFC interim bantamweight champion Renan Barão was ready for Michael McDonald’s best in the cage tonight in London. The young Californian certainly delivered his best and a little bit extra to the cage tonight. Barão would put the bout on ice in the fourth however, as he expertly transitioned to an arm-triangle choke that forced McDonald to eventually yield. The bonus nets his second bonus with the award, earning his first in Birmingham, England at UFC 138.
