UFC 157 Medical Suspensions: Henderson, Koschek, and Jardine Receive Possible Six Month Suspensions

Josh KoscheckThe California State Athletic Commission has released the medical suspensions for UFC 157. All fighters on the card would receive precautionary seven-day suspensions. With eight fighters receiving additional time off ranging from 45 days to six months.

Three fighters, including Dan Henderson and Josh Koscheck, would receive possible six month suspensions due to injuries sustained at this past Saturday’s event.

Preliminary card fighter Brock Jardine would also receive a six-month suspension after being caught in a vicious submission on Saturday’s Facebook headliner.

Fighters Matt Grice and Dennis Bermudez would throw everything they had into their bout in Anaheim. However, both fighters would only receive 60-day suspensions due to lacerations sustained in their “Fight of the Year” candidate.

  • Dan Henderson: six-month suspension unless cleared by physician for possible right hand fracture
  • Josh Neer: six-month suspension unless cleared by physician for possible nasal fracture
  • Josh Koscheck: 45-day suspension, 30 days no contact; in addition, six-month suspension unless cleared by doctor for possible right rotator cuff injury
  • Brendan Schaub: 60-day suspension unless cleared by physician for upper lip laceration
  • Dennis Bermudez: 60-day suspension unless cleared by physician for left eyebrow laceration
  • Matt Grice: 45-day suspension with 30 days no contact; in addition, 60-day suspension unless cleared by physician for front scalp laceration
  • Brock Jardine: six-month suspension unless cleared by physician for left thigh injury
  • Yuri Villefort: 60-day suspension unless cleared by physician
