UFC heavyweight Lavar Johnson has tested positive for elevated levels of testosterone following UFC 157. The California State Athletic Commission announced the positive test on Tuesday. CSAC noted that all other fighters tested negative for performance enhancing drugs and drugs of abuse.
Johnson’s failed test was consistent with the administration of a steroid. CSAC did not offer any further comment on the matter at this time.
Johnson was retained by the UFC after a dismal showing against Brendan Schaub at UFC 157. The positive test will now likely put that move in jeopardy.
