It seems that a proposed featherweight bout between between Jim Hettes and Steven Siler is once again not in the cards as “The Kid” has been forced out of the bout due to injury. The two were first scheduled to meet in June of last year, but the same ill fate fell upon that bout.
Stepping in for the Pennsylvania native will be Strikeforce import Kurt Holobaugh.
Siler (21-10) recently saw an impressive three-fight run snapped by the surging Darren Elkins. Prior to that loss, the UFC tenure of “Super Steve” had seen him take victories over Josh Clopton, Cole Miller, and Joey Gambino.
Holobaugh (9-1) is coming off of a gritty loss to Pat Healy at the Strikeforce finale, the first of his career. The Gracie Barra product impressed the Zuffa brass enough to be guaranteed a UFC slot.
UFC 159 takes place April 27 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
