Jesse Taylor has been released by the UFC following his debut loss to CB Dollaway at UFC Fight Night 14. Yesterday, The Wrestling Observer reported that Taylor had been released by the promotion.
Taylor, who was originally scheduled to compete in the finals of “The Ultimate Fighter 7”, was kicked out of the promotion temporarily following a drunken Las Vegas rampage that included him kicking out the window of a limousine.
He was invited to return, however, and took on “The Ultimate Fighter 7” runner-up CB Dollaway at UFC Fight Night 14. Taylor lost the contest via first-round submission and though the loss alone may not have been enough to get booted from the UFC his comments on former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton Jackson’s arrest and the UFC’s disciplinary actions sealed his fate.
“What goes around, comes around, I guess,” said Taylor. “I didn’t even know until I watched the show, but he said ‘He doesn’t deserve to to represent the company,’ and look what happened to him. It’s a big double standard. I’m sure if I was the ex-middleweight champion, I could get away with stuff. I’m sure if I would have done (what Jackson did), I’d be banned.”
Don’t be surprised if Taylor signs a deal with a major rival promotion in the very near future.
