Fitch-Carneiro, Stout-Fisher to be Co-Features at UFC Fight Night 10

Jon FitchIn a good move in my opinion the UFC has decided to have two featured fights for UFC Fight Night 10 on June 12th. When the event was originally announced the main event appeared to be Sam Stout vs. Spencer Fisher II again putting UFC welterweight contender Jon Fitch (5-0 UFC) out of the main event yet again. Recent news from the indicates that the event will instead co feature Jon fitch’s fight against Roan Carneiro along with the Stout-Fisher rematch.

Fitch commented on his status in the UFC welterweight pecking order:

“I know I have to earn my way to a title shot, but if they called me tomorrow and said the next show, you’re fighting for the title, I would be down. I feel my game and my skill level are high enough to compete with those guys and beat those guys.”

The event will be the first time most fans will have a chance to see Fitch in action and being that the event will be free on Spike it opens him up to an even larger audience. Fitch’s only other broadast fight was at UFC 64 against Kuniyoshi Hironaka. He most recently fought in the octagon against Luigi Fioavanti at UFC 68 in February when he posted a submission victory in the second round of the undercard fight.
