WEC 35 Medical Suspensions: Condit, Miura Among Seven Suspended Fighters

WEC 35WEC 35 headliners Carlos Condit and Hiromitsu Miura are among seven fighters who have been issued medical suspensions by the Nevada State Athletic Commission following the August 3rd event at The Joint at The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Neva

Condit, who defeated Miura via TKO in the fourth round of their welterweight championship bout, has been suspended until September 3rd due to left eyebrow and left lip lacerations. Miura has been suspended until January 31st due to nasal and left medial orbital fractures

Fighters can be cleared for competition early by a doctor.

Five other fighters received short precautionary suspensions as a result of knockout losses.

WEC 35 was broadcast live on Versus.

Here is the complete list of medical suspensions issued by the NSAC:

  • Carlos Condit (defeated Hiromitsu Miura) — Suspended until September 3rd with no contact until August 25th due to left eyebrow and left lip lacerations.
  • Hiromitsu Miura (defeated by Carlos Condit) — Suspended until January 31st due to nasal and left medial orbital fractures. Minimum suspension until September 18th with no contact until September 3rd.
  • Brian Stann (defeated by Steve Cantwell) — Suspended until September 3rd with no contact until August 25th.
  • Marcus Hicks (defeated by Jamie Varner) — Suspended until September 18th with no contact until September 3rd.
  • Micah Miller (defeated by Josh Grispi) — Suspended until September 3rd with no contact until August 25th.
  • Carlo Prater (defeated by Brock Larson) — Suspended until September 18th with no contact until September 3rd.
  • Dave Terrel (defeated by Blas Avena) — Suspended until Suspended until September 3rd with no contact until August 25th.
