Jeff Joslin (0-1 UFC) has been injured and forced to withdraw from his UFC 73 bout against Chris Lytle (2-6 UFC). No injury has been confirmed although with the event not occurring until July 7th it is presumed to be fairly serious. This is the second time Joslin has had to pull out of a fight this year after he lost to rising UFC star Josh Koscheck this past December. In March he was forced to withdraw from his UFC Fight Night 9 bout against Kuniyoshi Hironaka.
Replacing Joslin will be Drew Fickett.
Fickett (4-2 UFC) has alterneted wins and losses in his last 4 UFC fights most recently winning a unanimous decision fight over Keita Nakamura at UFC Fight Night 9. Fickett’s other UFC wins were over Josh Neer, Josh Koscheck, and Kurt Pellegrino.
UFC 73: Stacked is headlined by two title main events with middleweight champ Anderson Silva squaring off against Nate Marquardt and Sean Sherk defending his lightweight title against Hermes Franca.
