One of the UFC’s most experienced fighters and middleweight contender Evan Tanner will be making his UFC comeback in September. Tanner will make his return to the octagon at UFC 75 on September 8th in London or September 22nd in Anaheim.
No opponent has been named for the return bout.
It has already been more than a year since Tanner last fought in the UFC, defeating Justin Levens via submission in the first round at UFC 59. Making his debut in 1999, he is an 8 year veteran of the organization and boasts double digit fights with the UFC.
Tanner became the UFC middleweight champion after winning the vacant title from David Terrell in early 2005. He lost the belt in his first defense to Rich Franklin.
Over the last several months we have talked about Tanner’s non-profit effort, his thoughts on current middleweight champion Anderson Silva, his announcement of a UFC comeback, and his joining of the Chute Boxe USA team.
