Marvin Eastman has yet another new opponent for his next bout. Eastman was originally slated to face Drew McFedries at UFC 77 but after he was reportedly KO’d from the bout due to a staph infection Eastman was matched up with Evan Tanner for a UFC 76 fight. Reports then surfaced that Tanner may not fight at the event at all and isn’t even signed to a UFC contract yet and Eastman was left opponent-less for his return to the octagon. Recent rumors indicate that Eastman will face UFC newcomer and ADCC Champion Demian Maia.
The talented Maia holds a 5-0 MMA record in MMA with his highest career accomplishment coming in the Abu Dhabi Combat Club’s World Championship where he won the 87 kg submission wrestling crown.
Eastman first fought in the UFC in 2003 losing to Vitor Belfort. Another loss to Travis Lutter in 2004 knocked Eastman out of the UFC but after fighting extensively outside of the UFC he returned at UFC 67 where he was defeated by Quinton ?Rampage? Jackson. Following the loss Eastman headlined an International Fighting Organization event which he won by unanimous decision.
