Bellator 95 kicked off on Spike TV with a welterweight fight between US Olympian Rick Hawn and former UFC welterweight Karo Parysian. Hawn would level Parysian in the second round with vicious strikes.
Hawn would come out a bit tentative against Parysian following his January loss to Michael Chandler. The 2004 Olympian would crack Karo whenever he did throw however, and eventually it would pay dividends.
In the second, Hawn connected with a massive left that staggered the Armenian fighter and then followed up with massive uppercuts that felled Parysian. The former UFC fighter would protest the stoppage, including getting aggressive with NJACB officials, but it was all to no avail as he was still staggering while protesting.
In the evening’s final Spike.com prelim, former Bellator welterweight champion (and Season 7 welterweight tournament finalist) Lyman Good would get back into the win column with a solid, but safe, performance against The Ultimate Fighter 7’s Dante Rivera.
