After a 30-day stint in rehab, UFC heavyweight Dave Herman has had his contract with the promotion reinstated. “Pee Wee’s” manager Shu Hirata and the UFC confirmed the news to MMA Junkie today.
The heavyweight from Indiana was suspended after testing positive for marijuana behind a submission loss to former champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 153, his third consecutive loss in the promotion. Herman’s history of drug test failure does not end there, however, “Pee Wee” was forced to pull out of a UFC 136 bout with Mike Russow after a failed pre-fight examination.
“Pee Wee” has had his hand raised just once inside the octagon, against John-Olav Einemo in his UFC 131 debut. No opponent or return date has been officially announced.
