The Ultimate Fighter 17 champion was decided tonight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada as Kelvin Gastelum picked up the TUF 17 crown. Team Sonnen Teammates Uriah Hall and Kelvin Gastelum went to battle tonight in a bout that saw history made as Gastelum reigned victorious in exciting fashion.

Gastelum Bests Hall in Fantastic Fight to win TUF title

Kelvin Gastelum was tired of seeing Team Sonnen teammate Uriah Hall getting the all the attention and he earned his own attention tonight in Las Vegas. Gastelum showed no fear against Hall, and forced Hall to fight his fight. Hall would have several moments of brilliance, but his slow start and trouble stopping the takedown cost him dearly in the cage.

Gastelum would keep it up for all three rounds and managed to pull down a huge upset victory to win the UFC’s TUF 17 crown. “KG” also made history tonight as he became the youngest fighter to win The Ultimate Fighter crown. The Arizona native was arguably one of the most improved fighters in TUF history, as he took full advantage of his situation and transformed himself into formidable young fighter.

Meanwhile, Uriah Hall finds himself in a situation he never expected after all of the hype leading up to the UFC’s TUF 17 Finale. Hall still has a future, but has to work on his fight IQ and takedown defense if he is going to live up to the praise thrust upon him by UFC president Dana White and many media members.
