The Ultimate Fighter 17 wrapped up last night with season’s finale on FX. During the broadcast, the UFC announced that Uriah Hall, Kelvin Gastelum, Dylan Andrews and Luke Barnatt would earn an extra $25,000 for their efforts during the show’s filming.
In the least competitive category of the year, Uriah Hall took home “Knockout of the Season” for his electrifying hook kick knockout of Adam Cella in the show’s third episode. Hall would of course pick up two more impressive knockouts in subsequent bouts before losing to Kelvin Gastelum at last night’s finale.
Speaking of Gastelum, The Ultimate Fighter 17 champion’s night got even better when he was awarded $25K for “Submission of the Season” after upsetting Josh Samman in the semifinals. Gastelum constantly impressed during the season with his effort and massive improvement with each fight in the house.
Fighters Luke Barnatt and Dylan Andrews would earn $25,000 apiece for their “Fight of the Season” performance in the shows quarterfinal round. The back-and-forth war saw both fighters leave everything they had in the cage, with Andrews coming away victorious. Both fighters were also victorious in their respective bouts on last night’s finale.
