Did referee Kim Winslow stop the fight between Cat Zingano and Miesha Tate prematurely? Miesha certainly thinks so. UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey chimed in on the topic during a impromptu media scrum that MMAFighting recorded.

“Miesha looked really good. I thought the fight was stopped, maybe, prematurely,” said UFC bantamweight women’s champion Ronda Rousey.

In the third round, Zingano took Tate down, as she had easily done in the first two rounds. As Tate worked back to her feet, Zingano delivered two vicious knees that led to referee Kim Winslow stopping the fight.

Tate would object to the early stoppage as soon as it happened but to no avail. Notwithstanding the controversy, Zingano and Tate’s fight still managed to take home the “Fight of the Night.”  The award was well-deserved as it was probably the best fight of the night.
