TUF “Smashes” winner Norman Parke has his next Octagon assignment, as the Northern Ireland fighter will reportedly battle Kazuki Tokudome at UFC 162 on July 6th. The card will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Parke (17-2) worked his way to a unanimous decision win over Colin Fletcher at the TUF: “U.K. vs. Australia” Finale in December to win the competition. During the show Parke defeated Richie Vaculik and Brendan Loughnane, before facing Fletcher. The 26 year-old lightweight is currently riding a seven fight win streak.
Tokudome (12-3-1) made the most of his Octagon debut in March, by scoring a unanimous decision win over Cristiano Marcello. The Japanese vet has gone 4-1 in his last five fights, which feature four bouts under the Pancrase banner.
The July 6th card will be headlined by a middleweight tilt between champion Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman. Other main card bouts include Chang Sung Jung versus fellow featherweight contender Ricardo Lamas, Mark Munoz vs. middleweight Tim Boetsch, and former lightweight champ Frankie Edgar versus featherweight Charles Oliveira.
