RFA 8: Pettis vs. Curran set for Flyweight Title

The Resurrection Fighting Alliance will return to action this June 21 for RFA 8. The fight card will feature a battle for the inaugural RFA flyweight title as Sergio Pettis (7-0) meets Pat Curran (33-15-1) in the night’s main event. RFA officials announced the pairing earlier today via press release.

The flyweight pairing will pit members of rival cities against each other as Milwaukee’s Pettis, brother of UFC featherweight contender Anthony Pettis, takes own Chicago’s Curran. “Big Frog” will provide a stern test for the younger Pettis when the promotion heads Milwaukee.

RFA 8 will also feature a featherweight title battle between champion Jared Downing and rising prospect Lance Palmer. Downing has won three fights in the promotion and will look for his first title defense when he faces off with Team Alpha Male’s Palmer.  “The Party” won his title shot in his promotional debut against Fredson Paixao at RFA 4.

Other bouts announced for the card feature two more UFC brothers as Keoni Koch takes on Pedro Munhoz at bantamweight and Chinzo Machida takes on James Barber at featherweight. Also on the card, Mike Rhodes takes on Ben Smith at welterweight and Dan Moret takes on Jose Pacheco at featherweight.

RFA 8 will take place June 21 at The Rave/Eagles Club in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
