It was a tough day for featherweights on Monday as Antonio Carvalho was also released from the UFC. Carvalho was released after a tough TKO loss to Darren Elkins at UFC 158. The Canadian fighter announced his release via twitter on Monday.
I have been cut by the UFC. Too many FW’s on roster & need to cut back. Business is that way. Only love for the UFC. Hopefully be back. Thx!

The Ontario-native racked up a 2-2 record in the Octagon, and had won two-straight before Elkins finished him at UFC 158. “Pato” will have a chance to work his way back to the Octagon with his talent, but for now he is a free agent.
