It looks as though the highly anticipated, May 25th tilt between Mark Hunt and former UFC heavyweight champ Junior dos Santos could be in jeopardy, as Hunt is reporting he can’t get cleared for a flight to the U.S.
The New Zealand fighter relayed he’s having visa issues via Twitter Thursday, by posting: “Denied again at airport I’m never helping anymore dikhead mates”, as well as “This is wat happens wen u have friends that are dikheads the last fukn time I help these mother fkn trouble makers”.
According to a report from MMA Mania, Hunt also tweeted “Well thanks to a idiot friend of mine I did get arrested. Denied again at airport I’m never helping anymore dikhead mates.”
That tweet no longer appears on Hunt’s official Twitter profile.
Earlier in the week, Hunt reported that he was planning to head to Las Vegas this week to “start acclimatising” to the conditions he’ll face in the city, where UFC 160 will take place. Assuming, of course, the UFC can work out any visa issues the 39 year-old vet is apparently having. Cross your fingers folks.
Hunt is currently riding a four fight win streak and is coming off back-to-back stoppage wins over Stefan Struve and Cheick Kongo.
