Teixeira Taps Te Huna
Glover Teixeira had a lot to lose tonight when he faced the hard-hitting James Te Huna. Teixeira quickly looked to negate the big man’s power by getting the fight to the canvas. While Te Huna would do a good job of escaping, he wound up caught in a front-headlock that Teixeira quickly turned into an arm-in guillotine. The New Zealander was quickly forced to tap after the it was locked up by the Brazilian.
The win keeps Teixeira perfect in the UFC at 4-0 and firmly places himself in the title discussion. After the fight, Teixeira seemed just as happy to win as he did to meet his idol, Mike Tyson.
Rd. 1- Fighters are wasting no time tonight and Glover gives up on a takedown and connects on a nice right. Both are just missing in the pocket right now. Nice single to a double by Teixeira and he has the takedown. Brazilians in attendance are going nuts. Te Huna briefly recovers guard but Teixeira works through with big strikes. Te Huna scrambles back up but Teixeira jumps an arm-in guillotine and Te Huna is forced to tap.
