A lightweight scrap between Donald Cerrone and Rafael Dos Anjos has been set for UFC on FS1 2. The bout will serve as the evening’s co-main event. The IndyStar first reported the pairing earlier today.
Both fighters will head into the bout coming off May victories. Cerrone absolutely dominated K.J. Noons at UFC 160 with all-round assault that left the Strikeforce fighter a bloody mess. Dos Anjos comes into the bout off a contentious split decision victory over Evan Dunham in his last fight at UFC on FX 8.
The winner of this bout will cement themselves in title contention in a stacked division as Cerrone has won three of his last four and Dos Anjos has won four-straight fights in the Octagon.
UFC on FS1 2 will take place August 28 at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. The card is currently set to be headlined by a rematch between Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann. Tickets go on sale for the August show on June 14.
