WSOF 4 added multiple bouts to their upcoming August 10 fight card as tickets have gone on sale for the August 10 fight card. Headlining the announced bouts will be Tyrone Spong making his return to the cage to take on Angel Deanda. World Series of Fighting officials made the announcement on Thursday.
Tyrone Spong and Angel Deanda were originally set to meet at WSOF 3 before the Surinamese fighter was knocked off the card due to visa issues. Spong, arguably the world’s greatest striker at 205, will compete in tomorrow’s GLORY 9 light heavyweight kickboxing tournament in NYC before meeting Deanda this August.
The promotion also announced the debut of former XFC lightweight champion Nick Newell as he takes on TUF 13’s Keon Caldwell, a lightweight bout between Tyson Griffin and J.Z. Cavalcante, and a bantamweight bout between the hard hitting Marlon Moraes and Brandon Hempleman.
WSOF president Ray Sefo, who will face Dave Huckaba on the card, is particularly excited for the August show. “This will be, without a doubt, our finest event to date in terms of the talent lined up from top to bottom,” said Sefo. “As a promoter, I am extremely proud of this fight card that our company has assembled for our fourth live event and, as a fighter who still has the burning desire to compete, I am naturally excited to have the opportunity to step in the cage and show what I can do in there against a seasoned opponent.”
WSOF 4 is set for August 10 at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California and air on the NBC Sports Network.
