Bellator 97 Set with Lawal-Noe, Minakov-Martinez

The Bellator 97 main card is set with a stacked lineup after the addition of a pair of tournament finals. In the first final, light heavyweights Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal will meet Jacob Noe. The second final will see heavyweight Vitaly Minakov square off with Ryan Martinez.

Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal literally punched his ticket to the final with a devastating knockout of Seth Petruzelli at Bellator 96. Lawal will be facing off with fellow Bellator 96 victor Jacob Noe. Noe was set for the final after battering Renato “Babalu” Sobral for three rounds before putting him away late in Thackerville, Oklahoma.

In the Bellator MMA Summer Series Heavyweight Final, Vitaly Minakov will square off with Ryan Martinez. Minakov made his way to the final by defeating Ron Sparks in devastating fashion, the four-time SAMBO world champion improved to 11-0 with the victory. Ryan Martinez went from alternate to finalist this past Saturday, as he defeated Richard Hale on the evening’s preliminary card.

Bellator 97 takes place July 31 in Albequerque, New Mexico. The card will be headlined by a pair of title fights featuring Bellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler taking on David Rickels and Bellator welterweight champion Ben Askren taking on Andrey Koreshkov. The card will be a three-hour broadcast on Spike TV.
