Paul Daley’s pending assault charges have been dropped in his native England due to lack of evidence. Daley has been unable to fulfill his promotional duties with Bellator MMA due to the charges preventing him from obtaining a visa. With the charges dropped, Daley will now look to secure
Daley recently spoke with Bleacher Report about the case, stating:
“The case was thrown out, lack of evidence and contradicting witness accounts. I’m extremely happy. Applying for my P-1 visa as we speak and hope to return to the USA and Bellator later this year.”
Daley has remained active outside the Bellator MMA cage, with the promotion’s approval, racking up two victories in the process. Daley is currently scheduled to fight at Cage Warriors 57 against Lukasz Chlewicki on July 20.
While the inability to secure a visa has caused considerable friction between Bellator MMA and Daley, the dropped charges could allow Daley to return to the cage this fall. Daley has considerably good options in the Bellator cage, with fellow heavy-hitters Ben Saunders, Douglas Lima, and War Machine waiting in the wings.
