The UFC is planning a third “Fight for the Troops” event for November 6. While details are currently scarce for the upcoming event, the UFC’s previous shows took place on military bases (Fayetteville, NC and Ft. Hood Texas) and raised funds injured servicemen. UFC president Dana White first reported the event during the UFC Fan Expo prior to last week’s UFC 162.
No fights have been discussed for the card, however U.S. Army Special Forces Sergeant Tim Kennedy has expressed his desire to fight on the card. The Wednesday event will probably take place on FOX Sports 1.
The UFC will likely look to have multiple former servicemen and women on the card. While Brian Stan has retired and Liz Carmouche is booked for UFC on FOX 8, veterans like Kennedy and TUF 16 champion Colton Smith will likely look to fight on the card.
