UFC: Oct. 26th Manchester Event Not Finalized

Fans who are pumped to see Mark Munoz and Michael Bisping battle in Manchester on October 26th may need to calm down just a tad, as the UFC’s United Kingdom office has announced the event isn’t finalized. Although the UFC never officially announced the card, or the Bisping-Munoz bout, reports indicated that the promotion was planning to hold an event in the historic city. This weekend, Ross Pearson tweeted his desire to fight Takanori Gomi at the event.

UFC U.K. however, recently posted the following statement on its Facebook page:

UFC fans! We are aware that a large number of you are asking about a possible Manchester event for October 26 this year, however we are not yet able to confirm that we are heading back to one of Britain’s most famous cities due to the many factors involved in hosting such a huge event.

We are working hard to bring the UK a card of real significance and if we are able to make this happen it would be the event of the year in Europe. Your need to book transport, tickets and accommodation in advance is appreciated and as soon as we can confirm anything, we will let you know.

The UFC Twitter feed for Britain also posted a link to the announcement. So, although all is not lost for fans in the region who are hoping to attend the event, or people who like the idea of Bisping fighting Munoz in Manchester, clearly there’s a chance the card might not happen.
